Mexican Train Night privacy policy

Last updated October 1, 2026

Mexican Train Night is a local party game. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app sends no data off your local network.

What the app handles

While a game is open, the device running the app (Apple TV, iPad or Mac) hosts the game on your local Wi-Fi. Players join from their phones' browsers and type a display name. Those names and the game state are held in memory on the host device for that game only, shown on the host screen and to the players in the room, and discarded when the game ends or the app quits. Nothing is stored on a server, and we never receive it. The only setting the app saves on the device is whether sound is muted (iPad and Mac).

Local network

While open, the app listens on your local network (port 3000) so phones on the same Wi-Fi can join. The connection is not encrypted, so play on a network you trust.

TestFlight

If you test a beta through Apple's TestFlight, Apple collects crash reports and any feedback you choose to send, including screenshots, under Apple's privacy policy, and makes them available to the developer. Screenshots can show what's on the game board, such as player names, the room code and the device's local network address.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
